Rules & Policies

Terms & Conditions

IMPORTANT

By booking a photoshoot with me, paying the required deposit, or signing a photography agreement, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to all Terms & Conditions listed below.

These Terms & Conditions are publicly available on my website and are considered part of every booking, regardless of whether they were read in full. It is the client's responsibility to review these policies before confirming a booking.

1. Booking Confirmation

Your booking is officially confirmed only after the required deposit has been received.

A deposit is required for all photography sessions and secures your date and time. The deposit is applied toward the total session price.

Once your deposit has been received, we will begin planning your session together, including discussing the location, outfits, timing, ideas, and any other details necessary to prepare for your photoshoot.

Location & Studio Selection

The Client understands that location selection is an important part of the photography experience and may affect the overall look and feel of the final images.

Outdoor Locations

After booking confirmation, the Photographer will provide a selection of recommended outdoor locations that have been previously used and are suitable for photography sessions.

The Client may choose a location from the Photographer’s recommended options based on their preferred style and vision.

If the Client would like to use a specific location that is not included in the Photographer’s recommended list (including the Client’s home or another requested location within the Toronto area), this can be discussed separately before the session. For locations outside of Toronto, the Photographer may be available to travel; however, additional transportation/travel fees may apply depending on the distance and location. All additional fees will be discussed and approved before the session is confirmed.

The Photographer will provide available time options based on the selected location and her schedule.

The Client understands that the Photographer cannot control external conditions at outdoor locations, including:

  • the number of people present;
  • visitors or other activities at the location;
  • weather conditions;
  • temporary changes to the environment;
  • construction, maintenance, or unexpected objects;
  • cleanliness of the surrounding area.

The Photographer will always make reasonable efforts to choose the best angles, avoid distractions, and create the best possible images. However, the Photographer cannot guarantee a completely empty location or control everything happening around the session.

Minor distractions or environmental elements may be adjusted during professional editing when possible; however, certain circumstances may affect the final images and overall experience.

By booking an outdoor session, the Client acknowledges and accepts that outdoor environments are shared spaces and certain factors are outside the Photographer’s control.

Studio Locations

For studio sessions, the Photographer will provide available studio options and recommendations based on the desired style, package, availability, lighting, and creative vision.

Unless the Client requests a specific studio or room before booking confirmation, the final studio selection will be made by the Photographer.

If the Client would like to use a specific studio, room, or studio style that is not included in the Photographer’s recommended options, this request must be communicated in advance.

Additional studio rental fees, booking fees, or other related costs may apply and will be discussed separately before confirmation.

If the preferred studio or room is unavailable for the selected date and time, the Photographer reserves the right to select another suitable studio option based on availability and the creative requirements of the session.

The Photographer may choose a studio space that best matches the intended visual style of the session, including background, wall color, lighting, and overall aesthetic.

2. Cancellations, Rescheduling & Weather

Please notify me at least 48 hours before your scheduled session if you need to cancel or reschedule.

For outdoor sessions, I understand that unexpected emergencies may happen. If something urgent arises less than 48 hours before your session, please contact me as soon as possible and I will do my best to accommodate a new date whenever possible.

Unfortunately, studio session deposits are non-refundable if cancelled or rescheduled with less than 48 hours' notice due to studio rental commitments.

Weather Policy

Cloudy or overcast weather is not considered a reason to reschedule an outdoor session, as these conditions often create beautiful soft natural light.

Outdoor sessions may be rescheduled in cases of heavy rain, severe weather, or unusually cold temperatures that would significantly affect the quality or comfort of the session.

Weather decisions are generally made on the day of the photoshoot based on the latest forecast, and a new date will be arranged based on the next available openings in my schedule.

3. Photo Delivery

Original (unedited) images are delivered within 5 days after the photoshoot.

Edited images are delivered within 3–4 weeks after I receive your final photo selections.

In rare circumstances such as illness, family emergencies, travel, or other unforeseen situations, delivery times may be extended. Should this occur, I will always keep you informed and provide updates regarding your gallery.

4. Image Selection

Clients have 30 days (1 month) from the delivery of the original gallery to submit their selections for editing.

If you need additional time, simply contact me before the deadline and I will gladly extend your selection period.

If no selections are received within 30 days and no extension has been requested, your project will be placed on hold. I will select the images myself at my convenience and deliver the edited gallery according to my editing schedule.

Once your selections have been submitted, they become final and cannot be changed or exchanged for different images.

If you decide that you would like additional edited photos beyond those included in your package, extra edited images may be purchased according to my current pricing.

After receiving your final gallery, you may request up to three minor revisions at no additional cost. Any additional editing requests beyond these revisions may incur an extra editing fee.

5. Photography & Editing Style

Every photographer has a unique artistic style, and my editing style is an important part of my work.

By booking a session, paying the deposit, or signing a contract, you acknowledge that you are familiar with my portfolio and agree to my artistic approach, shooting style, posing guidance, color grading, composition, and editing style.

My portfolio on my website and social media represents the style you can expect to receive. I strongly encourage all clients to carefully review galleries similar to the type of session they are booking (maternity, family, couples, branding, studio, outdoor, etc.) before confirming their booking.

Each session is unique. I adjust my photography and editing according to the lighting, weather, location, clothing, and overall mood of each shoot while maintaining my personal artistic vision.

If you have preferences such as slightly warmer tones, cooler tones, brighter edits, or similar stylistic requests, I am always happy to consider them whenever reasonably possible. However, I cannot guarantee that my work will be edited to exactly match another photographer's style or a specific inspiration image.

Because my artistic style is part of the service being purchased, requests to completely change my editing style after delivery cannot be accommodated.

If there is a genuine misunderstanding regarding the overall look of your gallery, I may offer one complimentary overall style adjustment at my sole discretion. Additional stylistic re-editing may require an additional fee.

6. Copyright, Image Usage & Privacy

All photographs remain the intellectual property and copyrighted work of the photographer.

Booking a photography session does not transfer copyright ownership to the client.

Clients receive personal usage rights for their photographs. Images may not be sold, entered into publications, commercial competitions, advertising campaigns, or licensed to third parties without my written permission.

Where photographer credit is appropriate, I appreciate being credited as the creator of the images.

Unless otherwise agreed before the session, I reserve the right to use photographs for my portfolio, website, social media, advertising, educational purposes, competitions, publications, and other promotional materials.

I fully respect every client's privacy.

If you prefer your images to remain private, simply notify me in writing before your session or at any time before I publish them. I will gladly respect your request and your photographs will not be used publicly.

Our written communication (email, text messages, Instagram messages, etc.) serves as written confirmation of any privacy agreement between us.

If you require a separate signed privacy agreement, you are welcome to prepare one, and I will gladly review and sign it if we mutually agree to its terms.

7. Payment

A deposit is required to reserve every photography session.

Once the deposit has been received, your booking is officially confirmed.

Unless otherwise agreed, the remaining balance is due after the photoshoot.

Payment may be made using any of my available payment methods. In some cases, you may also receive an automatic invoice for the remaining balance, which may be paid online for your convenience.

Clients are welcome to pay the full session amount in advance if preferred.

Certain special events, mini sessions, seasonal promotions, or limited offers may require full payment before the session. This will always be communicated in advance.

8. Punctuality

Please arrive on time for your scheduled session.

For studio sessions, I kindly ask clients to arrive approximately 15 minutes early to allow enough time for parking, changing outfits, and preparing before the booked studio time begins.

Studio bookings are usually scheduled back-to-back, meaning the session cannot normally be extended if you arrive late.

If additional studio time happens to be available, the session may be extended for an additional hourly fee.

Outdoor sessions offer slightly more flexibility depending on my schedule. However, if another client is booked after your session, late arrival may result in a shorter photoshoot.

Whenever possible, I always try to accommodate minor delays and help my clients. In return, I kindly ask that you also respect my time, as photography involves preparation before the session and many hours of editing afterward.

Mutual respect and communication allow me to provide the best possible experience for every client.

9. Respect & Communication

I truly value creating a relaxed, respectful, and enjoyable experience throughout the entire process—from our first conversation until your final gallery is delivered.

Photography is much more than the hour we spend together during the session. It includes planning, communication before the session, the photoshoot itself, editing, gallery delivery, and any follow-up communication afterward.

I always do my best to be understanding, flexible, and accommodating whenever possible, and I sincerely appreciate the same respect in return.

Kind, respectful communication helps us work together to achieve the best possible results.

Disrespectful, abusive, threatening, or inappropriate behaviour toward the photographer will not be tolerated and may result in immediate termination of services without refund where applicable.

10. Liability & Force Majeure

While I take every reasonable precaution to provide a professional service, certain circumstances may arise that are beyond my reasonable control.

These may include, but are not limited to:

  • illness or medical emergencies;
  • severe weather conditions;
  • road closures or transportation delays;
  • natural disasters;
  • government restrictions;
  • studio cancellations beyond my control;
  • equipment malfunction despite proper maintenance;
  • or any other unforeseen events ("Force Majeure").

If I am unable to perform the scheduled session due to circumstances beyond my control, I will make every reasonable effort to reschedule the photoshoot to the next mutually available date.

If rescheduling is not possible, any payments made (excluding non-refundable third-party studio rental fees already paid on the client's behalf) will be refunded.

Although professional backup procedures are always used, including multiple memory cards, secure storage, and regular backups, in the extremely unlikely event of complete image loss caused by equipment failure, corruption, theft, or other circumstances beyond my reasonable control, my liability shall be limited to a refund of the amount paid for the affected photography session.

The photographer shall not be responsible for missed images due to circumstances beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to late arrival of the client, uncooperative children or adults, venue restrictions, interference by guests, weather conditions, or other factors affecting the session.

By booking a session, the client acknowledges that photography is an artistic service and that certain circumstances may affect the final outcome despite every reasonable effort made by the photographer.
